Ray Family #2

“I had no idea when my kids first visited Karate Works how much our lives would change.  For my children, they loved the structure and confidence they got from learning how to discipline their body.  For myself, I was surprised at how much comfort I took in knowing that they could defend themselves.   It gave me the courage to let them attend other types of events without my direct supervision.”

“Karate Works has impacted our family in such a way that I don’t know if there will ever be a way to say thank you enough. Our children have gained so much from the instructors and the art of martial arts. They have gained confidence, learned humility and perseverance when challenged, been able to tap into that sense of accomplishment that only discipline can acquire, and so much more. Karate Works invests in the lives of each student and you can clearly see the sense of responsibility they take on for each child. Mr. Holcomb and Mr. Greg are not only teaching our children how to protect themselves but how to build their character in a way we, as parents, are very grateful for.

I realize there are so many studios to choose from, and we did our due diligence visiting and checking them out. But Karate Works is unique, as it has an established record of honorable instructors who grace their teaching with building great moral character. It was evident from our first intro class and here we are, 3 years in, and we are so glad we chose this studio.

- They say “you don’t GET a black belt, you BECOME a black belt” and we are thankful we’re making that journey with Karate Works.”

“Myself, son and daughter have attended Karate Works as a family since 2013. Since then, the staff and the other students we've trained with over the years have become our family. This is a studio, that not only produces high quality martial artists, but first and foremost, puts a priority on what it means to be a person of unwavering integrity inside and more importantly, outside of the Dojo in everyday life. Our journey started as white belts, looking for an alternative to physical therapy for our special needs son. After trying out several studios prior, it was immediately clear, we had landed in a place that would embrace our challenge with open arms. Mr. Holcomb and Mr. Pfitzner, both went above and beyond, breaking down and creating unconventional training methods to assure our son could understand and learn the material. Because of that dedication, a boy that wasn't supposed to be able to walk, jump or play, was quickly gaining physical strength, coordination, advancing through belt ranks and breaking boards. (yes, breaking boards!!!). Over the years, we've advanced in belt levels and gained valuable physical skills, but above all, we will always be grateful for what we've learned and gained off the mat.”
